Lunkers love nightcrawlers is a book that I luckily bought while fishing facts was still a magazine. Like the knowing bass book, good read but imo not worth the going rate, it seems to be out of print. Like knowing bass, I first read lunkers love nightcrawlers by getting it from the library.

When I saw $120 for a book I about crapped myself so I looked up the book brand new, anywhere from $220- $280. Out of sheer principle I think someone aught to smack the writer and the publisher for charging so much for a book. Im sure you can get the same info from another book and if not between two or three books for much less. ?

The book is out of print. The author and publisher do not profit from the sale of out-of-print books, and are not setting the prices you see now.  But it is still in high demand, precisely because there is no other book with the same info. That's why the prices you see are so high -- welcome to the out-of-print book market!

I don't know who is shelling out $200 for a copy, but somebody must be for the market to bear these prices. Collectors, maybe?  I bought a used hardcover copy a number of years ago for $20.  The retail price listed on the dust jacket is $29.95, which what the publisher expected it to sell for new when it was in print. Pretty normal price for a hardcover.

That makes sense I get but that is quite the markup. Is there a pdf version that you know of. I know it’s an old book so it was probably published before pdf was a thing.

I hope I didn’t come off as a jerk in my original comment. I had just come home from Costco and was really mad that I paid $34 for 3 cases of water. Price gouging gets me hot!!

Anyways thank you for clarifying.

@IneedAnewScreenName-546846848 you should delete your prior post.  Unauthorized copies (including .PDFs) are legally problematic violations of copyright laws.

I suppose I should have used “Digital Copy” instead of PDF but it was implied in my comment. I’m not promoting anything illegal nor do I condone stealing someones hard work. Having said that I’m not politically correct and don’t don’t really care for the nitpicky response. I’m leaving the post and if the Mods deem it “Against the Guidlines” I’m sure they will be quick to delete.

I don’t want to cause any ripples in the water but I’ve noticed quite a few people who are hyper sensitive to posts and will take things WAY to serious and literal. I thought this is supposed to be a fun and informative platform.

I finished reading Lunker Lore yesterday evening. That was a good read. One thing I didn’t understand was the part about retrieving a jig a quarter of a turn on the reel. I’ve always heard that I’m supposed to be moving the jig with rod sweeps, not the reel.

I fish deep rocky structure lakes with sparse cover. To be successful it’s necessary to make long cast fishing jigs more Horizontal then vertical.  I wrote a article for In-Fisherman detailing Horizontal Jigging presentation.

If interested will email a copy, I have the address.
