Lake Of The Ozarks In 2 Weeks

Hello,

Going to Lake of the Ozarks in two weeks. We will be staying near mile marker 21. Have never fished there before. Any suggestions in terms of where to fish and patterns are greatly appreciated.

If you can find them, fish the docks . If you can't find them, you're at the wrong lake. Try to pay attention to the bottom contour and fish the docks along breaks or points first and work your way back into the coves. By that time they should be working their way back into the coves following the shad. I was going to go out there this weekend but with the Big Bass Bash I didn't want to deal with all the boat traffic. Missouri craw and PB&J jigs are usually really good. I've heard there is a great bite right now for numbers of fish with a baby brush hog on a shakeyhead. Should be able to catch some fish around the docks on spinnerbaits and squarebills and maybe some topwater.

What Bluebasser said. Catch a couple good fish of a certain structure(dock) and look at the bottom contour and the location to a point. Repeat. Easy as that. LOL

This is a really fun time to fish the lake esp. on weekdays. No crowds! Fish the windy side of the main lake or the deeper coves. The 21 MM is a great place to fish docks where the wind blows across them. The outside corners will nearly all have suspended bass on them to be had with a super fluke or a shaky head. Perfect for the sunny days!Even if yuo are over 30+ feet of water the bass will still be on windy dock corners from 1-10 feet down. If you can do it try skipping under the docks and behind them for larger fish in the backs of any of the coves. Real early do the buzzbait deal along side any docks, and there's 1000's to pick from.

One other thing to keep in mind, you'll be down there the week after the Big Bass Bash so they may be a little tight lipped after the mayhem. So you may have to slow down a little more but I'm sure there will be plenty of fish to be caught.
