I'm a couple minutes from a cabelas and was eyeballing one. I don't have much experience with daiwa reels except my cabelas prodigy. Is $197 for a zillion a no brainer?

I could care less about the color.

actually, the price for cabela's club VISA members is $149.99 for either the zillion or the fuego. if you don't already have a cabela's club VISA, they're free and they'll instantly add another $25 worth of points to your account to use immediately.

yes I bought 6 this AM and he is right 149.99 with your CC visa. that card has been a money saving machine when buying from them... Most everything in the B/B is discounted even more when bought with your CC visa.

I bought a 1600 dollar Leupold Mark 4 8.5-25X50 30MM ILLUM REC scope a few weeks ago for 732.99 I bought 2 of them they had at that store, I normally only shoot Night Force scopes but wow that is a sick scope for even 1200 bucks but at less then 750 WOW insane deal and I would have bought more had they had them. my CC visa knocked them from 999.99 to 732.99 each a CC that saved me 500 bucks on a single transaction is MY KINDA CC LOL!!!

I broke down and bought one of those Cabela's Zillions, I resisted the urge for a few days, but at 179 for a Zillion I could not stand it any longer and bought one. I hope they sell out soon so I'm not tempted again next month.

Got my cabelas anniversary zillion delivered today. Was pleased and color isn't too bad. One question for you guys, it came with some type of oil that they recommend putting on left and right spool shaft bearings after every day of use. Is that really necessary and is it worth the hastle of taking it apart just to do this?

Going to spool her up tonight and hit the lake this week to try it out.

The need to oil daily depends on how hard you use the reel and how heavy the oil is. Keeping the bearings lubed is a good idea in general and the reel shouldn't have to be taken apart. The palm side plate twists off and one of the bearings is right there inside the plate. The other is under the spool tension cap. In the case of the Zillion there is a bearing on the spool shaft as well and can be accessed by slipping ghe spool out the palm side while it is open.

There are a couple of Zillions in the flea market about the same price if you dont like that green.

I ordered one right after this post first appeared, and it got to my house in two days.

It's not as fugly in hand as it is in the pics. The green is not as vivid and the propoganda on the side is much more subtle.

In use, I don't even notice it. But then I don't care at all what color my rods and reels are. I want my rods to be light and sensitive, and I want my reels to be smooth and QUIET. I couldn't care less what they look like. And, trying to match colors? Puh-lease, I'm going fishin, not stylin.
