I know this is a saltwater lure, but this it is really catching my eye. A Yo zuri hydro squirt. It is a squid crankbait. I just saw it on the Cabela's website. It appearently is a crank with tentacles. It does not list a diving depth, but it comes in some good colors. And it is a pretty good chance bass have never seen one. Seems like a quick hook change is all you would need to do and it might produce. I wonder! Maybe I am crazy.

No, you are not crazy.

Tell me when a bass actually sees a live worm in the water but they hit our worm baits.

And how about a silly looking buzzbait or that strange thing we call a spinnerbait?

Get one and try it. You never know if they will hit it our not.

And remember, you always want to throw something that is different to give the fish another target they are not seen before.

Let us know what happens.  :)

I think it would work. The profile is not too different from a tube. And it looks like you could use spinner or jig skirts to replace the tentacles. The lip looks like it might be a shallow to med diver. What would be real interesting to try is adding weight to get it to suspend. Very interesting.

its a fairly large bait tho, at 5 5/8", it may not be as successful as you'd thing, altho it may get the interest of some real hawgs too!

3 years ago i picked up a bps saltwater(offshore angler) squid crank, its sort of big but i caught a 7lb bass on it last spring in Wisconsin.the one i have is hard except for the tentacles.tail they are a thick rubber.its clear with pink and red glitter throughout it.bass are garbage cans of the water, they will pretty much eat or attack anything they see as food or feel threatened by.i also have a few bags of these but havent used them yet http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_72334_151004000_151000000_151004000_151-4-0?ordProd=Y&CMID=TOP_selectitems#itemDetail
