Super User OkobojiEagle Posted September 26, 2011 Super User Posted September 26, 2011 Can't find much inventory in stores of the Rapala Dives-to series and when I do I'm finding them at sale prices. Can someone confirm this crankbait will be available in future seasons? Thanks oe Quote
Vinny Chase Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 I don't know if they will be available, but do you have any links to the sales going on? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 26, 2011 Super User Posted September 26, 2011 Gander has them in the clearance bins. Rapala's M.O. is all about discontinuing good baits. If history serves us, they'll wittle the line down to a few bread and butter models, making room for newer offerings. Quote
Super User OkobojiEagle Posted September 26, 2011 Author Super User Posted September 26, 2011 That was my suspicion too, John. Vinnie, I don't have any links as I try to support "brick and mortar" stores as much as possible. oe Quote

Super User OkobojiEagle Posted September 27, 2011 Author Super User Posted September 27, 2011 You buy fishing lures at masonry supply stores? Yeh... they dredge bottom a little easier. oe Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted September 27, 2011 Super User Posted September 27, 2011 I'm told there is, indeed, no intended changes, just a lower price on the baits. Quote
Vinny Chase Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 ^ hope this is accurate. Franco, my local GM has had the Dt flats and fats, but not the original Dt series. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 27, 2011 Super User Posted September 27, 2011 last time I was at ours, there were DT-16 galore in the bin. Who knows....our Gander is a little ahem, goofy.... Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted September 28, 2011 Super User Posted September 28, 2011 The Flats were the first to go!!!! Was told by a Rapala "salesman" that they don't sell well. Thats total B.S. I think it's more about cutting the cost of manufacturing and offering cheaper made baits at around the same prices. Just My opinion. IE: crankin rap Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 28, 2011 Super User Posted September 28, 2011 Flats are good baits, though carved, and weren't very durable. I recall the bill pulling free from the body on several. They were always replaced at no charge; must have gotten expensive. Quote

Gangley Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 The flats, fats, and the 16's are always on sale at the GM here, but they're awful color options. The "bread and butter" colors are never on sale and stay on the shelves while the fugly colors are the first to go in the bin. I picked up a few flats for around $3 a piece and some DTFAT01's for about $3 as well. I have caught a few nice fish with them. Quote

zachb34 Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 I was told by an employee of my local dicks sporting goods that they arent carrying them anymore but he didnt know why. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted October 2, 2011 Super User Posted October 2, 2011 Every.............yes EVERY DT from the DT 16, to the DT Fat 03, that I have owned has broke. They catch fish, but so do Bandits and Strike King's and I have not broke many of them. Quote
