Rebel pop r clown color is the only color I use

Posted

I have had more luck with a "chug bug", than any thing else. Guess that just makes sense since I have thrown it more than any of the others.

Around here the top water bite has not been as good for this time of year.

Forgot to mention the LC Gunfish. Its similiar to the chug bug.

... and Phylis Diller was similiar to Marilyn Monroe!

The larger Xcalibur Zell Pop is the best I've tried so far.

Same here, I love the large Zell Pop (xz3 I think?). Fished with many others but there's just something about the zell pop that I like.

The zell pop is the only popper I use with a few exceptions. I also have some Mag/regular PopR's that I usually keep in a separate box that I can grab and hit a pond/creek with. If I'm fishing from shore to have a little fun I would rather use and lose a $5 vs $10 lure.

I like the old Rebel Pop-R's. Also the Rapala skitter pops. Color doesn't matter as long as the belly is white!

A cool thing with poppers is that you can walk the dog with most brands...

I just got a few of the BPS poppers, I forget what model they are, but they are the cheap ones. Changed out the hooks and man do they catch fish. First fish I've got in years on top, and I've been killing them with those baits.
