Wisconsin Lake/ Largemouths

I live in upper Wisconsin, a pretty rural area with a lot of lakes that don't get fished very often. For the past couple months I've been going to a particular lake that has always delivered, nothing monster size, but lots of bites and lots of fun. Its a small lake that has a very small and shallow channel that goes into a much larger lake, which is private so I cant fish there. This lake for the most part is pretty shallow from the shore, which is what i fish most of the time. I've caught huge largemouths in just a couple feet of water pretty steady up until now. The last few times I've been there, after 2 hours sometimes I havent had a single bite, not counting the small baby bluegill and bass that are right off the shore that try to steal my worms I have little to no experience with alot of the lures out there and have used worm and bobber. With the changing season is it time for me to venture into the unknown and give those lures a try or have the fish just moved on out to the deep water now? There is almost zero fishing pressure on this lake, in the last couple months that i've been there, i've seen maybe 3 boats on the lake. Any tips would be helpful, I know I have a LONG way to go to get past being a beginner but I love fishing and cant give it up. 2 months ago was the first time i've fished in probably 10 years if not more and im just hooked, want to go morning noon and night, and any time in between.

Try Green Pumpkin tubes with rattles rigged with a weighted jig head in deeper, water also look for ambush spots likes points or deep ledges. Is there a tackle store near you?

Yes, there is a small bait shop in town. Doesnt have everything, but all the essentials like live bait and lots of choices for lures. I would really like to start using lures and gain some experience with them. 3 days ago on the 27th I went out again and decided to try minnows instead of worms and it worked fairly well. I caught 6 bass, they were all mostly about 15-16 inches but after almost a month of no bites it was great. Still, I would love to use lures but its really confusing with all the selection to choose from and not knowing what is what. Thanks for any help again

I suggest hanging out at the bait shop one day a week for a few hours and learn from the old timers!! Glad you had some luck with the minows!

If your tryn to start with artificial lures i would just try sum basics like a topwater frog, shallow diving crankbait, or even a medium size spinner like a 1/4 oz. If i only could use one lure i would prefer the spinner because theres a lot of ways you can use them and they are very easy to use.

I'm in Wi n the spinners work great. Dragging a football jig with a chigger craw on it also pays off also the Rapala DTs are great.

I love using wacky rigged worms like senkos that are blue/black or have purple fleck. These seem to work good. If you d like to catch more, fish where there is alot of cover. On a sunny day when there are pontoon boats with the covers on still, fish the wacky worm practice skipping under docks and under these boats. The reason why I say the ones with the covers on is because they never left the dock that day, maybe longer. I like using texas rigged green curl tail worms like powerbait for heavy deep cover.
