Rangerjoe Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I am fishing a tournament this weekend, and will be using 3/8 to 1/2 oz spinnerbaits. Since I will not be using my boat, and need to limit the number of rods I take. My choices are as follows: Techna AV 6'6" MF (this the rod I normally use). Techna AV 6'6" MHF Avid 6'6" MF HMG 7'0" MH (rod is not rated, but my guess is moderate/fast) Distance casting is not as important as accuracy. Thanks Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I don't see any need to deviate from your normal choice. My spinnerbait rod is a custom Med/Fast 6' short handled and does some topwater duty as well. Quote
Packard Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 All of those will work. Use the one that you aren't using for anything else at the time. Quote
Rangerjoe Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 Yes, I think the Techa AV MF has served me well over the years for this application. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted September 22, 2011 Super User Posted September 22, 2011 I like a MH rod for 1/2oz spinnerbaits. You have two choices; the MH AV and the Avid. An Avid M is equivalent to most other rod company's MH. I'd choose whichever of the two has the shorter handle. Quote
