LAURASDAD Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Hello, Looking for suggestions for the best shoes. Here is what I want: light weight/comfortable, water proof, warm. Going fishing in Minnesota and I usually use boots. But they are so uncomftable. thanks Larry Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted September 19, 2011 Super User Posted September 19, 2011 If weather permit's, nothing. But, probably not in MN. Look at a quality pair of boots, such as Red Wings. Quote
Packard Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 I wear sandals when it is warm but I see a lot of pros wearing crocs. I live in MI so in colder months I wear rugged shark shoes. Here are the ones I like for boats. Bill Dance Pro Fishing Shoes Here are the ones I like for shore fishing and kayak fishing. Aquamesh Water Shoes Quote
snapshotmd Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Summer, nothing. Spring & Fall, an old pair of loosely tied tennis shoes, or these if its raining. Quote
guitarkid Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I second the crocs for warm months. I have the pair that looks exactly like a pair of sperrys. -gk Quote
pussiwillow Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 sperry topsiders or vans slip on's for me Quote

Aquamesh Water Shoes I really like the aquamesh water shoes.I wear size 7 1/2 though and I see 8 as their smallest size. Do they fit big or smaller than normal? Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted September 20, 2011 Super User Posted September 20, 2011 Not brand loyal, whatever is most comfortable that's what I buy. I also wear a 7 1/2 and that's hard to find size, I will not buy on line as sizes are never exact. For beach fishing, open sandals, crocs and aquamesh shoes fill up with sand, never barefoot especially in the dark as all kinds of things wash up on shore. Shore fishing, comfortable sneaker, usually with socks , fire ants are killers down here. Boat action, I like sneaker style boat shoes, catching these fish that take you on a 360 around the boat, good support and traction is a must for, not too mention just keeping your balance in 4-5' waves. basshunter81 Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I wear the Drainmaker by Columbia Sportswear. They are very comfortable and light weight. Quote
JigMe Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 I wear this, and currently its on sale at cebela. I usually fish from shore, this is waterproof and comfortable, http://www.cabelas.com/product/Footwear/Mens-Footwear/Mens-Hiking-Boots/Mens-Waterproof-Hiking-Boots%7C/pc/104797980/c/104747580/sc/104383080/i/104106780/Cabelas-VTX-Mid-Hikers/1150016.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffootwear-mens-footwear-mens-hiking-boots-mens-waterproof-hiking-boots%2F_%2FN-1101190%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104106780%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253Bcat104797980%253Bcat104747580%253Bcat104383080&WTz_l=SBC%3Bcat104797980%3Bcat104747580%3Bcat104383080%3Bcat104106780 Quote
VolFan Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 Salomon XA Pro 3D GTX. Not cheap, but wholly waterproof, great grip, and you can do anything in them from run to work to fish. And they last forever. I have three pairs right now of varying age up to 7 years. The grip is the only thing that eventually wears out on them. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted September 20, 2011 Super User Posted September 20, 2011 I usually wear my extra combat boots or an old pair of sneakers Quote
Bass XL Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Like a few other people say, I'm always barefoot when the weather permits. Any other time, I'm rocking the good ole Nike 6.0's Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted September 22, 2011 Super User Posted September 22, 2011 Barefoot on the front deck when not too hot/cold. In between weather I prefer NB cross trainers for all day comfort. Quote
