i use a size 1 owner drop shot hook, works great with straight tail roboworms

I use the Gammy dropshot hooks in either #1 or 1/0. I like 'em.

1-1/0 Gammy's here. 1/0's 95% of the time.

I will only use the Gamakatsu Drop Shot/Split Shot hook, size #2. The reason is because of the point. If you look closely at most "octopus" type hooks, you'll see a curved point. The Gama hook has a straight point.

Here's the Octopus style:

Now here's the Gamakatsu style:

With the octopus, when you set the hook, it goes in and immediately comes back out. What this does, in effect is to skin hook the top lip. This allows for more frequent "quick releases" before boating the bass!

With the Gama, the hook goes in deep and stays there. This is just my opinion, which is also shared by RichZ, a renowned drop shot specialist (and fishing columnist), here on the east coast.

Hope this is of some help. :)

Gammy Dropshot/Split Shot hooks. #2 through 1/0, depending on the thickness of the plastic.

I agree with Crestliner! I use Gami's drop shot hooks, and about 80% of the fish I've caught with that hook, it is stuck in the top lip and will not come out without using pliers. Mainly cause its hard to grab

I have tried quite a few hooks and prefer the drop shot hook made by trokar. It is the only hook that i like from trokar.

Those hooks worked well for me, but i got tired of losing so many baits. So i changed to an ewg size 1 or 2, added a hitch-hiker (small) to the short "down" part of the hook and screw the worm on tight to the hook and rig tx. style. This works great. Very little adjusting is needed, and so far i've caught 7 on the same bait. Try it - you'll like it....

I've tried lots of sizes and several styles but my favorite is a #6 Owner Mosquito. Good enough for my P.B. 12,13 so that small hook thing is off the table. It is light enough that it doesn't affect bait behavior when used for wacky rig and much more weedless than a larger hook. Just my two cents.  It also seems impossible for them to throw off since it weighs zip and much harder to see in clear water.

I began using the #2 VMC Neko Rig hooks for dropshotting following their widespread use in the Bassmaster AOY tourney last fall. They seem to stick like glue right in the top lip.

Size 2 to 1/0.  If I'm power shoting I'll use 2/0 EWG.

When do I need to use a 2/0 Gammy drop shot hook or do I even need one that big? Would that be the right hook for 6” regular Roboworm or I’d too big?

I only use a 1/0 for 7" Zoom Trick Worms on drop-shot...I think that'd be enough
