Super User Sam Posted September 13, 2011 Super User Posted September 13, 2011 Shimano 2500 size spinning reel or another comprable brand. Check the reel's line test with the rod's specifications to be sure to match them properly for the best performance. Quote

Delaware Valley Tackle Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 There are a lot of good spinning reels in the $60-$100 range. One of the biggest bang-for-your-buck deals is the Pflueger President. The Supreme has been on sale lately too. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Check the flea market here and you should be able to find a deal and not burn a hole in your pocket. Quote

s13john Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I have a daiwa exceller in the fleemarket I'll let it go for 30 Quote
North Ga Hillbilly Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I'm big on buying used from people. If you get a reel from someone who takes care of their gear you can get a very good reel for less than you can find it anywhere else. Quote
northern basser Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 pflueger president or shimano sahara Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted September 14, 2011 Super User Posted September 14, 2011 See what feels best on your rod, which handle is comfortable when retrieving, most reels in the 60-100 range will perform fine, don't get hung up on brand. 1 Quote
MuffinMan Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I know some might consider it cheap, but the $49 Quantum nitrous combo is an awesome setup, all my spinning gear are about $50 combos by Quantum. I have one combo ive used for 5 years now and it is just awesome for plastics. The Nitrous combo is on sale at Dicks for $49. Quote
