Finally got out swordfishing, and what a night it was. Started about 7:30pm got out to like 1500 FOW and started drifting put out 5 lines 2 80W's and 3 50W's. It only took 2 hours and we had our first of 6 bites. We fought the sword for only 10 mins before it was boatside still very green. Got a opportunity to gaff it, and it took off like a rocket under the boat, we tried but the fish was too strong, and the hook pulled out. It was from our estimates around 120lbs or so. So a very dissapointing hour and a half later FISH ON.... We had the same situatuion the fish was at the boat in less than 10 min. This one was a little smaller and was no match for the 80 wide he was hooked up to. So now one sword in the boat, and half the night left to fish. To make a long story short 4 more bites and only one more catch a short 40 lb pup swordfish. Probably the best swordfishing experience I have had ever. I added a pic of a very nice blackfin I managed to get a few days earlier pushing 30 lbs. That's some good eatin right there.
