flippin and pitchin Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I flew out here to Ohio on the 2nd from Washington. What a trip. I have never seen so many ponds in my life. The folks out here are nice people. It's quite a contrast from the Pacific Northwest seeing the sights. I won't get to fish while here but that's okay. Seeing my best friend and his family is awesome to say the least. Maybe a trip on Erie when I come back next year ?? Anyone on the forum from Ohio, you can be proud of your state, it's pretty slick out here. The weird thing is there is only one Starbucks in a city of thirty seven thousand people. Quote

I lived in Columbus in the late '60s and '70s. Lots of great fishing in Ohio. Kelley Quote
MyKeyBe Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 The weird thing is there is only one Starbucks in a city of thirty seven thousand people. That's weird? I'd call that lucky. I live in a town about twice that size and no Starbucks. My dad lives in a town about that size, no Starbucks but they have a Dunkin Donuts! My wife works in a town about that size and it is nothing but a mall and strip malls from one end of the main drag to the other. Guess how many Starbucks they have? Yep, they have one. Quote
OHIO Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Ohio is a great state. Tons of fishing and good people. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted September 7, 2011 Super User Posted September 7, 2011 We went to Delaware Ohio last month for the Zoo down there. I love the outdoors and all the water there...but hated Ohio itself.Maybe I'm just used to living with so many choices for food/gas and shopping malls, but IMO there's really not much down there.I would get bored living there really quickly. I guess I'm not really country living.I like living in the city.People down there seem very quiet. I saw a lot of Amish people down there.....which was something new for me...I didn't know they really existed. Quote
