Hey guys,

I Just started getting into bass fishing this year. I am looking for a good rod/reel combo that isn't insanely priced. At this point i mostly fish from shore, and dont always have the greatest space to cast. Any suggestions would be great.

Spinning or baitcaster? Not insanely priced leaves a lot of options for you. If you're looking for a sub-$100 combo, then you would probably be pleased with a Berkely Shock rod combined with a Shimano Sonora, especially if you're a Giants fan. If you can afford the extra $20, then a Sahara would be a good choice. I use that set up as a loaner rod and my backseaters always praise it. Now if you want a baitcaster, you'll have to step the quality up for something like a Clarus and a Curado, Citica, or Pro Qualifier based on your budget. Anything 6'6" to 7' and "medium" should fit your needs as an all purpose rod. Here's some links for you.

**I spent a couple minutes linking the rods/reels from Tackle Warehouse but their links are apparently no longer allowed on here. Anyhow, pretty easy to find these rods/reels online. Good luck!

id go to the local Wal-Mart and buy a medium priced Shakespeare combo and go fish. you can match your gear to your skill level as it improves.
