Most all colleges now have Fishing Teams especially in FL. I am just starting at Louisiana Tech University and am joining the team here. You can contact the school's sports admin. and they can most likely tell you how to get involved. I'm not sure how other colleges do it but here, you must qualify to fish national tournaments. Once you qualify in your own college, you will be able to travel and fish against other colleges in your region. You have to pay everything out of pocket at first but you save all receipt of gas and rooming and the college reimburses the money to all athletes. So basically you get to travel and fish some of the greatest lakes in the nation for free. The only thing you would have to pay for would be food.

Yeah here at Radford we have a pretty decent team they deff. Didn't prove it at the regional on FJ Sayer's though lol :D I am a Freshman this year and basically how they work it is you fish the club tourney's and who ever wins the most club tourney's get's nominated to fish the FLW events. It's an awesome way to get to know others who are interested in fishing, and even get to fish a few tournaments. Also here at Radford we get a tackle warehouse discount and JB custom rod discount but we do pay dues which are about 50 a semester. 100 for the whole year.

I know a guy that goes to Radford and is on the team I believe, his name is Brian Conners. His brother just graduated and was on the team while he was in college. If you ever do hook up with Brian, he is a heck of a fisherman. Knows a lot. His Pops and him won the local classic two years back to back.

Yep he was at the club meeting last night seemed like a decent guy. Claytor is going to throughly kick our butts though that lake is unforgiving! He is actually going to fish with the club president this year in place of his brother.

I heard it's rough, a lot of finesse tactics. I heard the president has a nice boat, brand new Nitro? Something of that sort. Good luck this fall. I'm looking to get a team started here at ODU.

ODU doesn't already have a club? yeah 35 fow is shallow on Claytor <_< which is different for me because around Richmond I rarely get to fish much deeper than 15-20. I'm up for the challenge though, and the kid I'm fishing with his dad lives on Claytor and used to fish the Everstart series. So we will see I'm just excited to be around the guys and have some fun fishing! :D

Surprisingly they don't I've looked online on the clubs list, I'll have to investigate it more. If not I'm going to look into starting one. That is exciting, when you see Brian tell him Dirk says whaddup.
