Hey yall, new here! hello.gif

I was at Cabelas the other day and was checking out the new Lews Reels... And I've gotta say, I'm impressed! biggrin.gif

IMO the Tournament pro felt like the best of the bunch. Felt like a very solid, "tight" feeling reel, and smoothness was through the roof!

I was real close to getting a 7.1:1, but wanted to get some options about it before I sealed the deal.

How do you guys feel about these reels, and the brand in general?

I have two of the TP's and love'em. Do a search on here and you will find several reviews. I'm tired if writing'em.

Lew's = A+ I also have a TP and its great .

I once heard someone say just buy 2 SS instead of one TP and I'd agree the SS are great at 1/2 the price.

yeah, I am a Shimano guy and almost bought a Lew's this past Friday. But, I have never heard anyone say anything bad about the Lew's reels. You should be happy with it!

Thanks for the help guys!biggrin.gif

Did a forum search and found some great stuff, thanks Bassin Blvd.

I think I'll go ahead and get one of these reels and put it on a new Curcial, 7'2" MH XF. Seems like it would make an awesome jig rod! wink.gif

I'll second the positive comments on the Tournament Pro. Great performing reel that has taken a beating without a problem.

I have the Lew's ss I bought with a gift card.I've been using it to throw deep cranks.It is the 5.4:1 and I feel it does just fine for this purpose.I've only used it for one season but all in all I like this reel and will probably purchase another.

I looked at them and I think I like them better than my Shimanos. They're a little heavier, but the Tournament Pro model is actually lighter. I'm leaning towards the middle one though, which is the heaviest of all. Still only 8.3 oz. Cabela's catalog says it's 6 pin centrifugal brakes but the one I looked at was actually only 4 pins.

My friend has a lews speed spool, and the main thing i like about it, is its handles. They feel great, and really help when you hook into a lunker. I'm a shimano guy, and i love my citica's grip, but i like the lew's grip better. Performance wise, I'll stick with my citica and curado.
