Iphone Help

My wife just got a new iphone and this thing is the dumbest smart phone iv ever seen you need to have a wifi connection to do anything so u basicly need to be at your computor to use the phone what's the point of that. Or are we missing something she's bout to take it back because we don't have a computor that's why we have smartphones and she can't even download any apps because it needs wifi.

Is it the iPhone, or the iPod touch. Becuase with the iPhone you use internet, through your phone company. You need wifi with the iPod touch.

Its iphone 4 threw verizon she can go online I guess but all the apps it says we need wifi or to plug it into the computor

That's strange. I've never heard of one doing that before. Unless its trying to get you to sync it up with an iTunes account on a computer. As for the phone not making calls. I'd advise calling Apple about it. They have always gone above and beyond, with any problems I have had with my Apple products.

With apps over 20mb download it requires wifi, apple doesn't want you eating up their server bandwidth when downloading

Yeah its just apps and that face time thing she got it because they told her well I'm deployed I can get a apple laptop and talk to here like skype or what ever I have no clue I hate computors and all that techy stuff unless its hooked to a car and I'm tunning injectors and tweaking motors then I'm smart with a laptop besides that I can get online and that's it. She says almost all apps are over 20mb but can I plug it into the usb on my xbox and access internet that way?

Only way to find out is to try it.

Not sure about the xbox. iphone needs itunes in order to connect to a computer or to do anything, only thing so far you can access is photos through My Computer

She's gonna take it back tomorrow and go back to a droid cuz I guess she couldent load her pics on it wither so 700 some odd pics of us and our boys gone because we don't have a computor to do anything on to make this d**n phone work. My pos ally works fine for me all I use it for is BR lol

Why did you go with the iPhone if you don't have a computer or Internet access?

She got the iphone well I was at work we have the internet for the xbox and that's it she didn't realize u need a computor to use the d**n features on a iphone its pretty dumb if u ask me that's the whole point of having a smart phone for when ur away from your computor. Right now she's using my ally as for wifi I just make it a mobile hotspot or what ever its been working but it kills my battery. I told her just to get the wirless modem hooked up we have in the closet so she can pull wifi off that when home.

If you have the internet why don't you just buy a wireless router and connect to the internet over wifi to download large apps.

That's what she's gonna do then when she gets the laptop next month she can run that off it as well
