When we were dating, my wife used to fish with me, but now that we are married she doesn't. She recently told me how much she hated going fishing with me. She says it is boring and she does not enjoy it at all. If I go out, she will ask me how I did and then make a comment about how bored she would have been if we were out for 3 hours and only caught 3 fish. That being said, I am glad she doesn't come out with me.

My girlfriend loves to fish. She wants to go more often than me sometimes. I taught her how to cast a baitcaster, now she has two of her own and everytime we go fishing someone comes up to her saying how well she can cast. Only problem is so far she's caught twice as many fish as me.

I fish with my girlfriend all the time. Lately she has been building her own lures out of my jig parts. Actually she is about the only person I've fished with this year besides the KY lake trip.

I noticed that you failed to mention that she caught her new PB this year which dwarfs yours...LOL...J/K...I do remember she caught a real nice one this year. Congrats to her.

A few years ago I bought my wife an inexpensive rod, reel and a license. She would go out with me and take a few casts, then sit and read and maybe later on take a few more casts.

Now most of the time I schedule my fishing for when she is busy doing other things so we don't go together often, but when we do she just reads. I didn't see a point in wasting money on a license if she's just going to make a dozen casts all trip and she has no problem with laying back, soaking up the rays and reading while I fish.

Nope.

She quilts and does her thing and I go fishing.

We do go out and have a picnic on the boat every so often, but that's it.

If I fish she will read a book or magazine.

One time we were stopped by the Game and Inland Fisheries conservation officers and they never asked her for her license. I guess they could tell she was not a fisherman by her dress.

I have a grandson and I plan to take him on the boat just as soon as he learns to swim. :)

If my wife wanted to go with me at 3 am she's welcome.............lol fat chance of that ever happening.

She whizzes too much, gets an acute case of mal de mer, has no patience, I'm better off with her staying at home..

I love fishing with my wife, but it doesn't happen much. On the rare occasion that we have someone to take our son, we will hit the water, and have a blast. She has a good time, I have a good time, and she then appreciates all the money I spend on tackle, gear, and boat maintenance. We even "christened the bass boat"... twice!

Bluebasser86- How about I not show my wife that rod! lol She been dying for a pink one and I told her their all junk, though I might try and get her the lady Pflueger Trion in pink. That lady Avid she would die for I just know it.

Back to fishing with the wife, we are hoping to go tomorrow. She is off and our boy just started Pre-K. Now we will have time to fish just hopefully we don't get kicked out where we're going. Not private property but it is in a non gated community that I'm not sure require stickers since there's dues and I never once seen security there patrolling. I've been fishing there quite a few times no problems even once in my other jon boat. So I don't think there will be a problem. Hopefully we can go, have a good time and catch some fish. She is very new to it so I might might put her on wacky and C-rigs. I do very hope to have some pictures to post of her. Good news I heard a 10# was pulled out of the small lake during the spring, how true not sure. My brother said he as well seen a big one suspending near the shallows when we first scouted the lake. I know its a deep lake for even small. Here's to us hopefully, I only fished it once with and went skunked.

The pink trions are good rods, my sister has one and it works really well for her. I just got my wife the best thing I could afford because if her equipment is working well and easy to use then she is alot happier than if her line is tangling up or her reel isn't reeling smoothly.

My boyfriend/bestfriend and I fish in a tournament every Wednesday night. We are the only couple, I look forward to "our time" together. We may not talk much we just enjoy being out on the water and being together. There are nights that we really have to work to get our limit, but its fun. And there is ALWAYS just a little competition between us. My daddy took me fishing when I was little and "our time" compares alot to that.

Welcome MommaKop!!

Bluebasser86- I understand that. I bet she was very happy when you gave it to her. Did you pick it all out or she did and you bought it?

Back to topic. Me and the wife went out yesterday. With way everything been happning here with the weather I guess fishing wasn't good. I landed three, lost two. The bites wasn't like a bite more of a pull feel. The wife she didn't catch anything and She informed my new crankbait setup now belongs to her and Man I just bought it not to long ago.

She did say I can borrow it anytime I go.

I showed her the rod and she loved it. It's so light and thin it fits in her tiny hands, but more importantly, it's pink pearl with a holographic reel seat  She picked out the Quantum Energy PT because it has the holographic finish on it and it matches the rod, because your rod and reel should always match

I been trying to get my wife to buy some avid pearls, but she never wanted to try one in the store. Well that changed since she used my avid (which she claims now :D )

For now we picked up an ultralight quantum pink combo but the reel was junking out on her so we got the lady trion reel, would be nice if it was build up to standard trion specs.

I think we'll end up picking a M and MH pearl up later, maybe get some curados custom painted to match

I've always fished. First taught by my grandparents, moving up to sitting on my pony and using a zebco in the middle of the creek.

My husband (Fishing Cowboy), rekindled my interest in fishing back when we were dating,so I bought a 2007 Stratos. We fished some monthly 75-100 boat tournaments, some times finishing in the top 12, but out of the money. We just aren't able to get out on the water as much as we'd like, but happy with how we did compared to those who guided or out daily. So we moved on to some more "fun" couples tournaments. There we all fish till noon, weigh in, then head out to a local eatery and tell fish tales! :D

My husband taught me how to use a baitcaster, now I have 5 of my own including a flipping rod, carbon light rods, and a couple Abu rods.I've bought him some rods and reels on various holidays or just because he really did need an upgrade. We have so much fun together and he calls me his best fishing partner ever. We both fish as much as possible and in fact we are going out with a friend to Tampa bay tomorrow and get in a little sea trout fishing.

I got to thinking since reading the comments of my last thread here, whenever I'm out I don't see many couples fishing, when I usually see a couple the guys fishing and the girls reading a book. With me, my wife loves fishing as much as I do.

So I'm wondering, how many of you get to share angling with your significant other?

My wife keeps saying that she likes to fish, and would like to go with me, but she never does. There's always some excuse.

I fish alone 90% of the time, and I'm glad of it. My girl does come crappie fishing with me, but she needs the constant action. I enjoy having some time with her on the water, but I use fishing as a time to relax alone, so her not being 100% into it is a good thing for me.

Make some plans to go out and eat, instead go fishing as a surprise
