Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 2, 2011 Global Moderator Posted September 2, 2011 That's a big crappie for sure and on a jitterbug?? I've caught a few on topwater but they're usually small ones. Nice fish! Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 18 inches is a huge crappie, i got one over 20 inches a few years back at smith mountain lake Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted September 2, 2011 Super User Posted September 2, 2011 Wow, nice crappie for sure! I was nailing them on topwaters last year like crazy, but none that big. WTG! Quote
North Ga Hillbilly Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 pinch the tail and close the mouth and youve got a 20" official measurement crappie NGaHB Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted September 4, 2011 Super User Posted September 4, 2011 Had to be well over 2 lbs.! Contrats! Quote
Super User Marty Posted September 4, 2011 Super User Posted September 4, 2011 Great crappie. I'd tell you my biggest but it would be too embarrassing. Quote
The one that got away Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Potential state record for length? Official NH state record says 17.25 inches: http://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/Fishing/NH_state_record_fish.htm Quote
Avid Angler FL Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I caught my first a few weeks ago on a Storm Hopper Popper at night on Ultralight. They really seem to like topwaters! But on a full sized Jitterbug??? WOW! Quote
Nashua Nev Posted September 24, 2011 Author Posted September 24, 2011 Sent the pics in to the state. They just sent me a Trophy Fish Patch and certificate. They told me i should have kept it to get it certified. Close to if not a state record. I did not have a digital scale, not a certified one. Definatly was longer , weight was a question. They sent my son a patch also. He caught one at Turtle pond a few weeks before mine that was 17 1/2" and 2 1/2 lbs We sent in his pics with info. Pretty cool for him. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted September 24, 2011 Super User Posted September 24, 2011 That's awesome! Your son must have been pretty excited. Congrats to both of you. Quote
blueultra2 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 So where's the picture of the crappie that's over 20"? Hard to believe without a picture with a tape measure. Quote
Triton21 Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 I caught 2 crappie in 1967 in Kansas that were 21". Largest ones I have ever seen alive. Kelley Quote
