I went through a bunch of worm hooks this year and went to the store to replace them. Is it my imagination or is there a huge variation between one brand's hooks and another's? I like wide gap hooks (generally what I would term "4/0") but most of the "4/0" hooks I find on the shelves are more what I consider "2/0" or even "1/0." Is there no actual industry standard for this?

No there isnt. I wish there was and industry standard. The sizes of the gaps evens varys in some manufactures different round bends.

If you standardize them, then new innovations would be hard to release. Then they would be "non standard," and we'd be back to where we are now. Those little differences are sometimes what makes the hook better.

I do realize what a pain this is for mold makers. Trust me I do, LOL.....

What'd you do add lead pouring to your list of endeavours?

I got a guy, LOL.

Jimmy "Castmaster" is my lead man. Drop shot weights, wacky jigs, and a few others. I'm looking at modifying a few molds as well.
