DaveT63 Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Just curious what others use to fish wacky style. I'm using a 6'6" light fast rod. I love to catch fish on this rod, but I do miss and wonder if it's because of the light action. Thanks, Dave Quote
North Ga Hillbilly Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Kistler helium LTA 6'6" medium power x-fast action spinning rod. Works real well Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted August 30, 2011 Super User Posted August 30, 2011 Kistler Micro Mag Cast Rod 7' Med Edit= It's a medium not MH lol Quote
endless Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 6'6 M-F Gander Mountain tournament spinning combo. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted August 30, 2011 Super User Posted August 30, 2011 7-2 MH Fast Cumara, 7-2 MXF Cumara, 6-8 MH XF Cumara, and a 6-8 MXF Avid. Depends on which rod I've got in the boat and which isn't rigged with either a 4" Senko or dropshot. Quote
Canga Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 i use either my 6'8" mxf legend elite (which is soon to be a 6'9" mlxf legend extreme) or my 6'3" mxf avid... 6'3" is a little short for most of the bass guys i know, but the casting distance is almost equal to the 6'8" and i love that rod! (mostly use it for vertical jigging walleyes, though) have used a gander mountain GSX tournament 6'6" mlf in the past as well, worked pretty decent Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted August 30, 2011 Super User Posted August 30, 2011 Every rod I have except my flipping stick, and deep cranking rod. Most often I use my 6'8" M/XF St Croix Mojo spinning rod, and my 7' M/F St Croix Legend Tournament casting rod. If I am fishing a wacky rig in heavy cover, I'll switch the 7'M/F LT for a 7' MH/F Legend Tournament. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted August 30, 2011 Super User Posted August 30, 2011 6-6 mh johnny morris signature series spinning rod. Quote
philsoreel Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 G-Loomis SHR822S 6'10" Mag Medium Extra Fast. It's labeled from the factory as a shakeyhead rod, but it doubles as a killer wacky-rig rod. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 It depends on which plastic I'm using. A true Senko is dense and heavy enough to fish well on a M/F rod. If the cover is light or I'm thowing a much lighter worm I'll go to a ML/F. Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 30, 2011 Super User Posted August 30, 2011 It depends on what and where I´m fishing, so it can be anywhere from a UL rod all the way up to a H. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Either a Veritas 7' M/F spinning or a Crucial 7' M/XF Casting model. Quote
boystcroix Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Mostly with a 6'8' MXF Legend extreme spinning rod, sometimes with 7' MF Legend Extreme casting rod. Quote

DaveT63 Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 Ok, all, thanks for the replies! I've got a couple XF action rods I may end up trying as well as this L. Thanks again, Dave Quote
