The popper actually seems to draw more strikes for me. It makes a lot more noise and commotion than the 65. But my hook ups are reduced due to the smaller 3/0 hook on the poppers. Also, the popper seems to get hung easier in cover.

I also prefer the popper but in very heavy cover I use the original Bronze Eye frog. It seems its pointy nose makes it easier to work it through. I have been catching a lot of fish on both.

Yea I can walk the dog with the popper works good for me

someone also told me that you can walk the dog with popper...is this true?

Yup, you sure can! Just trim about 3/4-1" off the legs and it will walk! The shorter the legs the more it will walk and vise verse. Check out the vid on them!

I stick to the basics really! Black(Mid Night Walker) for overcast/cloudy days or at night! When its sunny out i mainly use the Green Tree, natural green and the leopard really!

the popper far out performs the original in my mind, however as stated, ti does hang up easier in thick stuff, altho a little wiggle will free it up, it can be a hassle. however, I seem to get better hook ups on the popper, than the original for whatever reason, atleast so far. right now my popper is my main go to frog, and the original is mearly a back up.

Yup, i do........................PRACTICE,PRACTICE, PRACTICE.............then when you think you are good, practice some more! It's almost like skipping a rock, really not that hard!

I throw the popper whenever the grass isn't to thick, much better than the original IMO and the original is awesome itself. The only problem with the popper is that the mouth collects grass a little easier than the original. I do disagree with dink color wise though, I prefer black on sunny days and white or green when its overcast.

Oh, by the way, has anybody else noticed that the poppin' frogs drain much better than the originals and they don't require a squeeze every other cast

you might be right I don't seem to need to drain my poppers as often but they are newer than my originals so I kinda was thinking it was that they just not as worn( or should I say broken in  ;D)  yet.

Popper works great in more open areas and Original 65 for heavier or more subtle presentations, both are great, but can't wait to try out Madd Maxx.  ;)

I started frog fishing with the 65. I had pretty good luck with it and then I tried out the popper.

First time out with it in leopard color I completely killed fish for 2 hours. It is still now my #1 frog and the only time I tie the orginal on is when I am in the really nasty stuff.

Also between me and my friend we have had 5 bass over 5 lbs. this past 2 weeks on just the popper alone.

Both work well but I actually have had more strikes on the regular frog so far. I was fishing heavy emerging weeds with tough stalks and leaves though. I had 22 strikes in 2 hours during mid day on the natural green Spro Bronze Eye.

Would superglue or calk help keep the water out of the frog, cause I had the darn thing sinking on 17 pound mono after two casts without squeezing it?

I have heard the new Madd Maxx has a drain mechanism and doesn't take in water the same way.

I had pretty good luck with the popper.   I honestly catch more fish on the cheap little popping scum frog than I do on all the other frogs put together.

I tried superglue but it actually made it worse, the water that got in there was harder to squeeze out. Haven't tried calk. I've just resorted to squeezing it out every few casts. They work well so I'm not going to complain too much.

Maybe bubblegum could work? You can remove it. Maybe even electrical tape.
