Has anybody ever heard of the College Bass League ran by the National Guard and FLW. Free entry fees, fish on pros boats, and travel expenses are all paid for. Seemed too good to be true until my buddy joined a club up at Central Michigan. http://www.collegefishing.com/ I found it really interesting and I'm excited to start or join a club soon.

Yea you watch it on VS channel. It seems to be really big and only getting bigger. I think even B.A.S.S has college fishing makes me won't to go to college.

Yes that s all mostly true. I am on the Georgia southern bass team. All the FLW tournaments are paid for but u still have qualifyers and other tournaments that come out of pocket depending on how much funding you get from the school and your sponsors. In the FLW tournaments you can also win money that you keep since its a club sport and not an NCAA sport.

We started one here at Fairmont State in 2009, after much grief from our school. First tournament our guys went out and won it all. School was acting like it was all their idea the whole time, that was until we asked for a little funding. If you start a club make sure you talk to the school and get some kind of funding if you can, it really helps.

I fish for Louisiana Tech. Just started this year. There are three main divisions of college fishing: collegiatebassfishing through boat u.s. ( I believe) , BASS has a division and flw has a division. But you will or should have qualifiers within your own college club before you will be allowed to fish on the higher level in these leagues. I was suppose to fish my first qualifier this passed weekend but I got in a back vehicle incident on the way to the lake. Soooo it will have to be my one drop tournament. It sucks because I was on fish and only twelve pounds won.
