Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted August 27, 2011 Super User Posted August 27, 2011 You only have 5 mins ....what do you take reels or rods all you got is a 1 car, truck or van .your kids and wife and photo alblums are ready to roll to saftey ..by far i save my reels take off rods and gooooooooooooooo Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted August 27, 2011 Super User Posted August 27, 2011 Why not just grab your combos? Seperating the two takes far more time. And my tackle bag is a backpack so I can throw that one and still have two free hands. 1 Quote
SDoolittle Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I'd keep my reels. I'm all the time buying, selling, and trading rods anyway. They would be easier to replace than my reels. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted August 27, 2011 Super User Posted August 27, 2011 Insurance would cover my fishing gear along with other hobbies that aren't a concern in a catastrophe Quote
tipptruck1 Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 If I had to choose I would take my reels. But in a split second choose I would make sure my family and dog get out. Insurance will cover every thing if lost. I would make sure to gab my computer hard drive. A lot of personal and family things on that. Quote
Super User Maxximus Redneckus Posted August 27, 2011 Author Super User Posted August 27, 2011 BASSclary im talkin yrs of collecting reels and rods most of my reels aint made anymore or they are more now then when i bought them new ..just a simple poll i got a hurricane coming and i packed my reels in my van no room for 30 + rods/combos 1 Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted August 27, 2011 Super User Posted August 27, 2011 Last time we had to evacuate due to a flood I left them all and grabbed my Rifles (20+) and computer (pictures). Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted August 27, 2011 Super User Posted August 27, 2011 I'd grab my family, my bug-out/survival bags for each member and go. That's it. Everything else is just stuff. It can be replaced. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted August 27, 2011 Super User Posted August 27, 2011 Heck leave the wife more room for the kids and gear lol one less head ache Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted August 27, 2011 Super User Posted August 27, 2011 Oh okay. Yeah that cane's comin' for me two. I voted reels. They're smaller. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted August 27, 2011 Super User Posted August 27, 2011 Neither. Those would be the least of my worries. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 The copy of my home owner's insurance policy. The difference between men and boys is not their toys but how they insure them. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted August 28, 2011 Super User Posted August 28, 2011 Leave'em both - but be sure to take the file/folder containing all the receipts for your gear. They may come in handy later if the need arises. A-Jay Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted September 2, 2011 Super User Posted September 2, 2011 none of my fishing gear. i had a 2001 truck that caught fire and i went in to get my brief case. when i stepped back away a guy asked why i didnt turn the truck off....... i calmly looked at the guy and said: "that would turn the fuel pump off" got a real nice check from the insurance company.
