SDoolittle Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I am expecting a litter of pups from an accidental breeding between an English Pointer and a German Shorthair Pointer. Both parents are excellent upland hunting dogs, and I would like to place the pups in good, hunting homes. The Sire, a GSP, is 25 1/2 inches tall and weighs about 70 pounds. He is heavily Hege-Haus and Poettsiepen line bred. These are some of the very best lines the Germans had to offer, and they’re what a large number of the NAVHDA guys work with, crossed to Hustler. He is an extremely biddable, confident, medium range dog. He is going to be running Master Hunter this Fall, and he has an UFTA Championship to his name. The Dam, a Pointer (English), is 23 inches tall and weighs about 45 pounds. She is line bred Guard Rail with a touch of Honky Tonk Attitude. She has proven herself as an excellent natural bird finder everywhere from the wide open plains of western Oklahoma to the thickest of West Virginia woodcock coverts. Her style, athleticism, and innate ability to find birds make her a pleasure to hunt behind. I am located in the Charleston, WV area, and you can pick one up here, or shipment can be arranged at your expense. I may also be willing to meet you somewhere in the WV/OH/KY area. The pups are due on Labor Day, and they should be ready to go in early November. PM me if you are interested in giving one of these pups a good home. Quote
SDoolittle Posted September 4, 2011 Author Posted September 4, 2011 They're here! Five males and four females arrived this morning. So far, only three of them are spoken for. I'll post more pictures in the next few days. Quote

SDoolittle Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 I'm still looking for a home for two males. Quote
Wayne Stringfellow Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 I'm still looking for a home for two males. I'm very interested in the pups . I usually hunt with a friend in Montana who has a Shorthaired female and I think that she is great. I've lost two wounded grouse today here in northern Idaho due to not having a dog, plus have not been able to get some shots off at the flushing wildbirds. It's time for me to get a good pointer. Not sure about the process and cost of shipping from your place to the airport in Spokane , WA. Cost is a factor unfortunately. I'll try to find out. What about the travel kennels? Can you rent one from the airline or do I have to buy one at your end? You can email me.... wstring5@hotmail.com Quote
SDoolittle Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Wayne, it would be very expensive to ship a pup from WV to WA. For the money you would spend on shipping, you should be able to find a good pup closer to home. I have a few connections out in your neck of the woods, and I may be able to help you find something, but I would suggest you start by looking here: http://www.gundogbreeders.com/breeders-idaho/. Wayne Stringfellow Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Yeh...you're right. I will check the site and if you hear of anything out this way, please let me know. Thanks. Quote
mmmrader Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Do you have any puppies now that you want to get ride of. Quote
SDoolittle Posted December 2, 2012 Author Posted December 2, 2012 Do you have any puppies now that you want to get ride of. I happy to say that I do not have any pups this year. That breeding was a freak accident that I hope to avoid from now on. I have kept in touch with a couple of people that I gave pups to last year. They have turned out to be beautiful, hard hunting bird dogs. I'm kicking myself for not keeping one of them. Quote
gobig Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Wish they were Labs but the are great looking pups. Quote

Super User Gundog Posted December 3, 2018 Super User Posted December 3, 2018 I have a recliner that has tons of dog hair on it. Any takers? You can even name it what ever you like. I was calling it "Stinky". Quote
