on most rapalas, the letter is an abbreviation for the model (F for floater) and the number is how many centimeters long the bait is (11 cm long)

+2 for F-11 it is a solid producing lure.  I also like the blue & silver.

I like the 9's and 11's, in a silver, gold, goby, perch, or shiner

several years ago, they had a color named silver minnow, it was actually kinda a baby blue, baby bass looking pattern, I loved it but they discontinued the color, and my last couple were stolen when I had an old tackle box stolen probably 6 years ago.

Great bait, a real classic.  If you're after trout I'd suggest the Gold /black back in F9.  Bass seem to prefer a Silver/black in F11.

I have the original and a jointed version in silver/black and I can't get over all the people who swear by it...I still tie one of them on here and there and never get a bite.  I seem to have the best luck with a gold fluorescent red while the wife gets 90% of her fish on a blue and silver.  Second choice would be the firetiger.

I like sizes 9 and 11 for bass in chartreuse silver, natural perch, hot orange, and fire tiger.
