I'm a pretty tolerant guy, and try to be as understanding as possible, but for my first year of college I got tripled up and one of the guys is g.ay..... Have any of you all had a similar experience? Any dissaster roomate situations? I'm pretty worried about it. Oh and to top it all off he is a die-hard Obama supporter.... :o :o :o

How is one roommate being g.ay a disaster?

Have had multiple g.ay roommates, much prefer them to people that had an actual problems.

Idk if it's a problem or not? This is why I am asking have never lived with a *** guy before.

Not an issue at all unless they lie, steal, are messy, etc. Basically a generally bad roommate.

I've only heard of one horror story in which the roommate batted for the other team. To make it a long story short, one of my roommates friend had a roommate that batted for other team and supposedly during a party one night he tried to, err... force unwanted contact into him that would have spark an investigation by Law and Order:SVU. Fortunately, a girl at the party slap the crap out of the guy and nothing happen. And the next day the two gentlemen shook hand and called it a drunken incident and never spoke of it again until he told me and my roommate about it..

Far as my experience goes, my first roommate was horrible. He was messy and left food particles everywhere in kitchen, etc..His girlfriend was so ugly, she could have trick or treated over the telephone. My first week there I woke up to smell of burning pancakes every single morning..The guy actually moved out 3 weeks later, and they gave me new roommates who were easier to get along and much cleaner. I've heard plenty of other horror stories and believe me a roommate who is g.ay or is Obama supporter is least your problem. A straight guy might be a lot worse to tolerate...

He is a person, just like you. It may be "uneasy" at first, but you'll quickly acclimate. Most people who are antigay or whatever are that way because they stereotype an entire group of people without ever actually meeting them. Get to know him. Don't treat him any differently than you would anyone else. In the end it will be a non-issue.

Tip: There are more LGBT friendly people in college than there are LGBT haters. There will also be more democrats than conservatives. It comes with the territory. Open your mind to new things (don't do drugs) and just go with it. The most important "learning" you will do in college will come outside of the classroom.

Look on bright side, a g.ay guy usually knows a lot of hot chicks..Just be friends with him he might introduce you to some of them. :D

This is also true.

Unless you are g.a.y too, I doubt he's interested.

I could post some funny stuff about fishing jargon but the mods would remove the post.

But it would be funny.

Just use your imagination as to what we say about our baits and techniques.

We did a thread on how our jargon could get us into a lot of trouble with those who do not fish a few years ago and it was very funny.

Just watch what you say around him, especially when talking about your worms. Those ______ inch ones!!! :D:D:D

I know a few guys that bat for the wrong team and there cool cuz there not like flamer *** them are the ones I wanna smack the whole limp wrist omg talk like your a 14year old girl kind. One of my roommates in college was bi we think lol. He had a gf at first and he'd hit on girls but we found some tranny videos on his computor and in his room that was just weird but he was the best beer pong player I have ever seen lol. Room mates are usually cool a lot of great experiances that's how I travled a lot in college go see roommates or classmates familys on weekends I went to 17 diffrent states in college just to tag along and party.

Ps. On side note don't go to another colleges quaterbacks house get friendly with his gf and think you can take on the whole team or the school for that matter it was a fun rumble but also a painfull one lol.

Dont even know where to begin with this one.

So the fact that he is *** means its a "dissaster" roommate? And you are worried about it? What the hell does it matter if hes ***? I am literally befuddled. What you think is going to happen? You going to wake up to him humping your leg? You literally cant be that ignorant, I am giving you the benefit of the doubt. Chances are hes a regular guy, does school work, maybe he has an affinity for Glee and High School Musical, big deal. Chances are hes a regular dude. I'd call it a disaster if he smelled, was messy, stole, etc...

I think you need to be specific with what you are exactly "worried about"

EDIT: I am also pretty offended that the word "gªy" is starred out.....really? seriously? why?

I should also point out that I know another guy that had a *** roommate and he told me when he bought guys home, was kind of odd getting used too. Otherwise the guy was good roommate. Never stole food, always cleaned up after himself, and talking to him was like talking anyone else.

You'll be alright unless the guy turned out to be a total psycho which isn't limit to *** guys. Straight guys can be total psycho too.

Maybe your new roomate is on another site right now saying " I can't believe they paired me up with a backwards A#% redneck who likes to fish".......?????

And, he is making jokes with his friends about you like " I bet he is a master baiter".....

If he were an MMA fighter and you found out he was *** would it make you think any different???

I wish one of my former roommates had been "only g.a.y." Instead, he was an inconsiderate, slobbish jerk. So, unless your new roomie makes unwelcome advances or drools while you change clothes, I wouldn't worry too much about it. You might find him to be a nice person.
