swimbait king Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Best spinnerbait combo? under $400 1/4-3/4 oz. considering a Quantum smoke PT and 7' mh fast action mojo, but want to make sure im getting the best bang for my buck. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted August 25, 2011 Super User Posted August 25, 2011 Best spinnerbait combo? Best? That's entirely subjective. I could throw out a Calais 200DC and a Steez Flexlite, it'll only cost you about $1100 to decide whether or not you like it. Some people will hate it, some will just like it, some will love it. On the other hand I could throw a blade on a Cumara CUCX69MH with a Chronarch or a Curado and get the same results. It's all about what you want to spend. "Best spinner bait combo" is far too general to answer effectively. 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 25, 2011 Global Moderator Posted August 25, 2011 Depends a lot on the spinnerbait too. I'm not going to use the same rod to fish a 1/4oz spinnerbait in tight quarters around standing timber as I would if I was making long casts with a 1oz bait along a point or flat. If I had to pick an all purpose spinnerbait rod it would probably be a 6' 6" MH fast action rod with a 6.3:1 gear ratio loaded with 15 or 17 pound test. Quote

flippin and pitchin Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 This is his 4th post. Okay SK, you will obtain a more defined response if your question is more defined. That's just a tip for you in future posts. Consider a 6-6 to 7 foot medium heavy action with a fast tip and a quality baitcaster in six point something to one gear ratio. Manufacture options are endless. Welcome to the forum !! Quote
guitarkid Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Medium heavy fast action rod, 14-20lb test mono, and a high speed baitcaster. -gk Quote
ToledoEF Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 I use a 6'9'' MH XFast rod with a 7:1 curado and 17lb flourocarbon or 30lb braid. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted August 28, 2011 Super User Posted August 28, 2011 7'MH Avid, Citica 200e, 14lb floroclear....handles a goose on a trap nicely. Quote
