Went frogging today and also chased some shad boils. Biggest bust/surprise happened while frogging. First ever catch turned out to be a.....frog....giant frog  I was expecting a beastly bass while tugging it through the weeds. Hooked into a few bass but only 1 other blowup besides this while frogging. At least I was matching the hatch with my frog color

Lol nice I hate when that happens and trying burning it away from them where my nephew sees the bullfrog and pitches his topwater right on its nose to catch the bullfrog.

Man frogs are disgusting. I would rather get bitten by a snake than touch a frog. No joke. That's gross.

haha, frogging is hard enough at that lake so it wasn't cool catching that thinking I had a big bass. At least now I know there is the possibility of some frogs at that lake, though even the rangers and concession guy were surprised when I showed them the picture

haha You are right, I was pretty grossed out trying to take the hook out then it decided to hop around the boat before I picked it up by a leg and threw it overboard.

Congrats on the PB, lol.

pliers. yeah I tried my best not to touch it...it smelled. Popped the hook out and it went crazy hopping all over. Was hoping it would jump out of the boat but when it failed I had to grab it and toss it in. Yuck, not a catch I want to experience again...Next time maybe a bass will eat my frog. Tired of all the inaccurate blowups :D

In other news, the bass in my avatar was from today prior to that. Still waiting to catch a monster but it was a great fighter for its size. Very healthy looking

Was probably pretty funny until you had to take the hook out.

I caught a frog on purpose once with a grub, but that'll be the last time.

Those sings are nasty.

yeah at first I thought it was a bass obviously, then thought it was a turtle and felt bad. Then saw it was a giant frog and was just mad. Hope that is the last one.

We used to catch big bullfrogs on purpose with grubs on a plain hook. They fight great on a light rod and frog legs taste great! ;) Those big ones like that do have a smell to them sometimes though.
