Facepalmmaster Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Theres this little pond near me, and i was talking to someone who fishes there often and they said that there was a big white catfish in there, and that someone they knew caught it. How do I catch that/a catfish. I think I had one on before because I felt something really strong (bigger than any bass I've ever seen there by far) and it was pulling drag like crazy, and then the line snapped. It was on a yum 5" dinger, but I didn't get one today at all when I went. I've heard cheese works, so I tried it, but the sunnies ate it all. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 25, 2011 Global Moderator Posted August 25, 2011 White cats have a pretty limited range but a lot of people around here call blue cats white cats because they're usually really light colored when they catch them out of the rivers. White cats can be caught using similar techniques as you'd use for channel cats, blues will big better on fresh cut bait instead of stinkbait or liver. I'd suggest catching a couple gills and cutting them up for bait, you'll catch either kind of cat with that. Quote
