endless Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I've been getting the Sunday Ticket for the last two years but now I'm seeing commercials about how now it will available at no extra charge this year. Is this for only new members subscribing to Direct TV?? Does anyone know and what about existing members are we still going to have to pay? I tried to search for info on it but couldn't find anything even on their site. I might just have to call to find out but man that is going to suck if we still have to pay the price for it while new member get it for free. Has anyone look into this? Quote
Super User 5bass Posted August 24, 2011 Super User Posted August 24, 2011 I have a buddy that was wondering the same thing. He called DirectTV and asked and they told him that he had to pay for it, that it was only for new customers so he told them that he was just going to cancel his DirectTV and go with the local cable company........then, all of the sudden, the NFL Package was free. endless Posted August 25, 2011 Author Posted August 25, 2011 That sucks all we got was $10 dollars off each month of the Sunday ticket. My wife called today to pay our bill. Got to have my ticket though. Directv is still the only provider of all the games right? Everything else just redzone right? Wouldn't matter anyways we have Metro cast for our area and they suck here. Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 yeah i tried but they only wanted to knock 70 bucks off. i didnt threaten to cancel, but apparently thats how you get a ton of free stuff from directv. just threaten to cancel. people do this every year, theres always a thread on a redskins message board i visit bout how to obtain free nfl packages... Hyrule Bass Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 I don't see how being a Redskins fan you would want NFL ticket.. i get all the games locally on tv, so i dont need sunday ticket to watch my team play. but i also get stuck watching a lot of boring ravens games, that team just really bores me. it would be nice to be able to watch other better games after or before the redskins come on. and if i lived out of area, i would definately have sunday ticket. as a diehard lifelong skins fan, i havent missed watching a game in years, and when i was forced to i had it on the radio. being a lifelong fan, ive watched the skins win 2 superbowls and then one another i was too young to even know what football was at the time haha. the last several years have been nothing like when i was growing up, but im standing by my team in the bad just like when they were great... Same here for my team as well. Still get the ticket for them but it sure is nice when things aren't going the way you want you can just switch to another game. The tracker is very nice to have too. I just wish the local fox games or whoever is playing on those channels would play on ticket channels. So when I'm flipping channels we wouldn't get that screen searching for game or whatever it says. Quote
GrundleLove Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 my parents (dad) have had Comcast and directv at war for our account forever. he threatens to leave Comcast for directv...if he dosent get what he wants, he does it. then Comcast begs him to come back, gives him whatever he wants, so then hes back to Comcast, now directv is throwing every package they have at us to. Currently we have Comcast with EVERY movie package for free, they upgraded our internet, and we have HD DVR's in every room in the house that cost us nothing. Now Verizon Fios just got put in our neighborhood and my dad is chomping at the bits to make this a 3 way battle royal....Sick b.astard.... Quote
