i have never caught a bass on a tube, i am using a 6'6'' medium/fast, johnny morris spinning rod with a shimano stradic 2500mgfb,6lb fluoro.

i have been using powerbait 4'' tubes, coffe tubes, gitzits, the colors are, green pumpkin, white, smoke redflake, etc... i use tube jigs 1/8-1/2 oz, i also have the tube inserts 1/4 oz with a gammy ewg hook, t-rigged soaked in megastrike.

how am i supposed to fish these successfully, thanks everyone

There is this old-timer who I chit-chat with when I see him on the lake. During the summer the stubborn goat fishes only tubes and fishes them at a snails pace dragging them along the bottom. The geezer catches them like crazy but it's painfully boring watching him. ;D

My two most fav. ways to fish tubes are:  let them go to the bottom and hop the off, then let the fall back (expect the strike on the fall) and toss them out, count down and slow roll it back with some stop and goes along with rod tip twitches.  Just about any game fish as well as a occasional big old flat head will climb all over a tube.

BTW: Your color choices are fine.  Just keep on throwing them and you will connect.

I like them for a river two blocks from home. I just fish it like you would a plastic worm. The current is there and that tends to take it downstrean rather quick. Lots of fun, the smallies really hit the tubes quick.
