just i have a few questions. on flipping jigs do anyone prefer the ones with the rattles or does it make it difference?? also when fishing like a crawfish do you recommend chunks ,crawls, or the 4 inch chigger crawls?

i also have another question dealing with scented spray for the jigs and chunks or crawls do anyone recommend garlic scent?? if not what scent? and whats a good scent for plastics?

ive posted two attachments of a pond i fish at. how would anyone recommend me fishing it?? i have tried medium minnows but caught few baby bass  and some decent cats.

I tend to like jigs with rattles, but all of my jigs have rattles so it might just be my tendency to buy models of jigs that come with rattles.  I do feel it gives me a little more confidence that the jig will attract attention which allows me to slow down fishing it when otherwise I'd get impatient.

My trailers are usually just softplastics that I otherwise use by themselves.  I like Netbait Paca Craws if I want the jig to fall slowly, other brands of craws for a faster fall, and zoom flukes for an extra fast fall.  As for scent, I use it occasionally, and either garlic or craw flavors.

I try to keep jigs as simple as i can really! All my jigs are custom made and have removable rattles. For the slower/colder months i remove them. For the hotter/active months i add them. I almost always use a 4" Chigger Craw so there is no need for scent. The craw has more than enough scent to get the job done. I have most success almost dead sticking them in the winter and hopping them in the warmer months.

My opinions on rattles is that I find them to be unnecessary but on the rare occasion that I use one it will be a Lunker Lures Original Rattleback Flipping Jig or Triple Rattleback

My opinions on trailers

Gene Larew Salty Hawg Craws

Zoom Swimmin' Chunk & Salty Pro Chunks in sapphire blue

Uncle Josh #11A Original Chunk & #23 Kicker Frog in blue

Rage Tail Lobster in colors to match jigs

I use attractants for two purposes first as a lubricant because I fish in grass a lot and the attractant helps my plastic baits slide through easier.  I use Fish Formula II or Baitmate (clear) with a ½ oz of pure anise oil added; this is to mast any odor my plastic may have pick up.

All of my flipping jigs have rattles because all of my flipping jigs are Revenge.  I'm not sure if it helps, just more of a confidence thing for me.

As for the trailer, I will always use a 4" Berkley Chigger Craw no matter if my jigs are for flipping or if they are for fishing deep rock piles.

Like Dink said, with Powerbait scent is not as vital as it would be with unscented plastics. whenever I do use scent it is going to be Megasstrike.

As for that pond in that pic, I would be pitching and flipping that dock pretty heavily with a flipping jig (hence my screen name  ;D).

I would highly recommend you hit that pond hard with Senkos and Toads rigged weightless.  You won't regret it.

I have a suggestion I think you probably know this but fish that bridge don't stand on it. Seriously hit every post with a jig and senko over and over again. Only after that stand on it to fish.

Rattles only when the water is muddy, no need for them other times. I fish with only NetBait Paca chunks. I also use BANG! Pure Craw scent, comes in an aerosol can.

yea i have the net baits chunks. im either going to try my crayfish color jig or the watermelon jig with the chunk. and than i havce my watermelon seed senko 4" and the green pumpkin 5"

i gotta look for some of these scent products. walmart only carry yum garlic, powerbait something and gulp alive. i never look at gandermountain or bps to see what they got there.

but im def. gonna hit those ponds these weekend. anyone near caroline in va. fort ap hill is only twenty a year and has i think a total of 9 ponds and 3 lakes. like the one in the pic they have a few you can walk completely around then there the some where you need a boat.

if u r flippin branche sand really tight branches then go for a big black bait with no rattle cause usealy the close and tighter the cover then the more likly it is the holes u fish will hold a bass....if u hit it on the head it wont need a rattle to make it bite
