dhami013 Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 I live I'm central Virginia, fredericksburg to be exact. I was wondering if anyone knew of some lakes or rivers near by where I could hook into some snake head. I would love to catch one of those toothy terds. Quote
hookingem Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Potomac is your only option In VA. Good luck! Quote
zenyoungkoh Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 they fight pretty nice, they dont jump much but they do make your drag scream. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted August 20, 2011 Super User Posted August 20, 2011 Aquia Beach, Stafford VA. If you do catch one, make sure to kill it. Bring a small baseball bat or something of the like to beat it on the head with, like the saltwater ones they sell at BPS. PM for directions if you cant find any. Quote
dhami013 Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 Anyone know of some productive baits for them? I've heard top water like buzz baits. Quote
VolFan Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Soft frogs on top over shallow warm grassbeds, like a Rage Toad. Bring plenty, because if you get into a good pod of snakeys, they destroy the baits quickly. Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 23, 2011 Super User Posted August 23, 2011 Aquia Creek. Fish the shoreline and docks/piers. No reason to go any where else on the Potomac if you can fish Aquia Creek. Two places to launch so check your GMCO Potomac map. Quote
dhami013 Posted August 23, 2011 Author Posted August 23, 2011 I appreciate the feedback thanks all Quote
endless Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 At Aquia Creek do you still have to go through the registration in MD or what ever that new law is? Quote
endless Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Isn't Aquia creek part of the Potomac? I just remember hearing about registering when fishing Potomac. I probably just don't understand it. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted August 24, 2011 Super User Posted August 24, 2011 Oh, the FIP. It's easy, you can do it online and it's free. Quote
