I do like the finger grip above the trigger. I wonder if that really makes a difference or helps?

I would definitely consider one of these rods for a buy if I had a 100% confirmation that they were a very much upgraded blank. They look great, but the original GL2 blanks blow. My only gripe is that I think it would look way better without the inwards hump on the handle.

Nice thread start! I have to admit they look sweet, but I've finally worked my way up to a GLX and cannot start going backwards down the line. I can only imagine if they revamp the other better performing series over the next couple years... the bait monkey will be knockin.

I feel the same way about the Avid's bump in front of the reel.

Can´t say much about them, I suppose by the price the blank is different from the classic GL2, the retail price is $180+, so I would guess kinda like an Avid with split handle and without that darned bumpy handle.
