You never can tell just what will work at a particular time or place.  You really should have a variety of sizes, colors, and styles if you plan to do well with the jig.

For example, Tuesday night my pard was waxing my butt on a pbj football head with rootbeer trailer so bad that I finally switched over.  About 2 am I broke the pbj off and was too lazy to retie.  I picked up a black Arke with a smoke trailer and caught 4 keepers on one point while the pbj didn't even get a smell.

MegaStrike Evolution II (3/8 oz)

I also fish GMAN jigs (1/2 oz)

And Micro Munch Tackle (1/2 oz)

I match rather than contrast trailers. I use Rage Tail Lobster,

Baby Craw and Chunk; GYCB Flappin' Hog, Fat Baby Craw

and Double Tail Grubs; NetBaits Baby Paca Craw; Reaction

Innovations Double Wide Beaver; and Uncle Josh Pork.

My favorite is the widegap jig from gman (custombassfishinglures.com), but I also fish his football and finesse jigs.

I do not have a favorite jig. I go to the store, select by color first and then check out the price tag. I sure as heck ain't gonna pay anything over 3.50 for a jig. Also make sure to check that the weedguard does not have a funky angle. Don't forget that trailer either.

I use several jigs but I do prefer the "finesse style" skirt. Right now the War eagle 3/8 heavy finesse in phantom brown craw is tearing them up. I also like the Eakins Jewel Jig in 7/16. For the non finesse jigs I often use Revenge jigs. There well made at a decent price, comes with rattles, and has a good hook. On trailers right now I totally in love with the Rage tail chunks and craws. Alabama and Okeechobee colors are the ones I mainly use right now. I also use the GY Flapping hog but it doesn't get much use right now.
