Found these at a local WalMarts. Has anyone ever tried them? I'm getting pretty fed up with pike & pickeral snatching off my jigs and plastics. Going to give these a whirl to see if I can decrease my losses? Just hope my bite ration doesn't decrease with them! Here's what they look like:

Those work, but after one or two fish, they're toast. Look for Cortland Toothy Critter in 10 and 15# size. It's a tieable leader, basically plastic coated steel. Works great, and allows you to fish t-rigs, jigs, and wacky hooks with ease. Fish don't mind either.

I use the Danielson version of those occansionally. The bass don't mind them, I've caught a few largemouth wilth one of those on a suspending jerkbait. But I usually only use them for Pike fishing.

Like JF, I prefer a leader I can tie. I use Tyger exclusively.
