So I hooked up a double fluke rig today since I had never tried it. It was super cool just like I knew it would be but I only caught 3 fish on it. Then I got to thinking about what else I could use since I had this all rigged up. Next I tied on 2 senkos and put a screw in the tail of the one on my main line so it would sink faster. Worked like a champion. I never really have much luck with senkos except wacky rigging them for a drop shot bait. Today I caught like 30 fish with them on that setup. I dont know if they really wanted senkos today or that rig really helped but I like to think it did. Now I am thinking why cant I just double rig every soft plastic. Like peg a bullet weight to whatever is on your main line and leave the other line weightless. In theory I could hop a bait along the bottom and have the other one sorta floating up above it a foot or 2 weightless. Or use like 2 different baits and put the faster sinking one on the main line. I cant imagine I would be the first person to do this so has any one ever tried doing this with 2 different weighted baits or whatever at the same time. It seems like it should work great since it is 2 different fall rates and your sorta working at different depths at the same time.

Well I tried it using just 2 weightless worms. I rigged the one on the main line with a heavier hook so maybe it would fall faster. I seemed to have no problems with it and i'm pretty sure it was definitely not hurting any thing. I was catching them like 3-1 on the front hook but I think that might be because they see that one first.

Interesting idea. I wonder how the first bait would affect the action of the second.

If hatrix doing it like I think than there was a topic back I think Glen mentioned it it has a name but if remember it was to track them either on bottom or suspended. Jonathan VanDam has a version of a Double Fluke rig http://www.bassedge.com/media/show/Jonathon+VanDam+-+Double+Fluke+Rig

I think its called a double zulu or something. But I have only known people to throw tandem flukes. I am trying to find a way to throw 2 of everything. From what I have seen it really doesn't seem to hurt at all. I am pretty sure I can also throw 2 different weight spinners and make it work fine. Covering multiple depths at the same time seems like a bonus to me. Also I think it might help nail down what colors works best. I started throwing 2 different color worms caught 3 and missed one all on the purple and that was the back hook so I assume they saw the other one first but liked the purple better and that's the one they went for.

Instead of 2 flukes I use a fly and jerkbait, I'm sure a fluke would work too, it's called a drop fly rig, I've used it for bass, snook and tarpon with success.

I've "donkey rigged" Flukes, Slug-gos, senkos, trick worms, baby brush hogs, Rage Anacondas, and even tried a crank on bottom with a sassy shad on top one time. All were successful in catching fish with the exception of the crank rig.....

need to fine tune that one a bit. ;)

I was thinking could throw multiple cranks with like some sort of modified crappie rig setup. The only issue I see is what about when you catch a fish? The trebles on the other crank are going to get all stuck in there face or something and I cant see that being a good thing at all. It might end up really hurting fish like getting a treble stuck in there eye or something. I really want to try 2 different size suspending jerk baits but I don't want to be mutilating the fish if I catch one.

I've tried 2 rattle traps before...I'd love to figure out how to make that rig work lol But with soft plastics, I use a double 10" worm a lot. Just like the double fluke. I place the sinker on first then the swivel (both ways work, but when fishing rocky stuff it keeps both under control a little better) Have also done this with a c-rig with a jig as the sinker. Floating worm/fluke, 5 inch grub to a swimbait both on mainline. Some have worked better than others.
