bowfish12 Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 If Lsu's Jordan Jefferson can learn to throw the ball a little I think they will be pretty solid. Although Alabama may be lacking a little offensively their defense may carry them to the national championship. If Jefferson is their QB for the year they have no shot at championship. Quote

lynyrdsky1 Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Jefferson is Jamarcus Russell except he is showing how bad he is before he goes to the NFL. LSU has always done well with a short fast guy at quarterback like Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn but I think Mettenberger would do a pretty good job but maybe Jarrett Lee if he gets a little more time. bowfish12 Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 That's funny right there I had a big spill written up but decided to just leave it as this. Catt, LSU has no shot in hell of winning a national championship with him as QB every game, every play. Lynyrdsky1, Jefferson is no where near as good as Russell was in college. Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 25, 2011 Super User Posted August 25, 2011 Apparently neither of y’all knows much about LSU football, Jefferson’s problem was offensive coordinator Gary Crowton. Crowton was trying to make a pocket passer out of Jefferson which he is not; he is a dual threat quarterback. Jamarcus Russell’s Pro career was over the day he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders & until Al Davis retires so will anyone else. Jarrett (pick 6) Lee’s problem is he stares at his receiver from the moment the offence lines up till the releases the ball, any decent secondary will intercept that ball Quote

bowfish12 Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Catt, I like watching LSU football, and you are dead on with your assessment of everything. The problem still is Jefferson can't throw the football good enough to consistently win games in the SEC. Sure he can run, but in the two whole games I watched last year (UT and ARK) and parts of others, it becomes easy to shut an offense down when every play is some sort of a run. I think if Miles will play that Mettenberger kid LSU has a real good chance of making it to that nat'l championship game. If not, I don't think they will get past bama. Might not get past Oregon. Super User Root beer Posted August 26, 2011 Super User Posted August 26, 2011 Too much distractions, Oregon will probably beat them next weekend.(and they aren't that good of a team either) Suspensions are coming. Count on it. Assuming Les Miles got the guts to suspend players that have already broke team policy...If not, then we know where Les Miles stand when he says he will suspend players and do not..
