Tim Jones_31414 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Hey northeast guys - what are your favorite baits and techniques for fall? It will be here before we know it! I don't have any yet, started freshwater this year, fill me in. Quote
Fat-G Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Southeast, but I like jigs, spinnerbaits, lipless cranks, and topwaters. I love fall fishing. The fish turn on and strap on the feedbags for winter - awesome time of year. Quote
B-Dozer Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Tubes have been good to me most anytime. Slow w/short hops. Quote
backwater4 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Early fall, jigs and spinnerbaits. Late fall, deep structure with spoons and silver buddies. Quote
The Bassinator Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Im gonna have to go with spinnerbaits, crankbaits and my favorites jigs and jerkbaits dont forget about that topwater too Quote

Tim Jones_31414 Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 How about super flukes? I have a few hard jerkbaits, but no plastic. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 17, 2011 Super User Posted August 17, 2011 Well, I pretty much use whatever I'd use in spring or summer, just the location I fish changes. Quote
WanderLust Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 1) Lucky Craft SP100 Pointer in Shad, Perch or Blue Gill 2) Spinnerbait / chatterbait 3) Jigs & soft plastics I always use depending on conditions Jerkbaits are money as the water cools... Last year I have a few 20+ fish days just using them. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted August 17, 2011 Super User Posted August 17, 2011 Swim jigs and topwater stuff (Rage Shads and Toads). I do love the fall fishing, but hate to admit the summer is coming to a close. It's been a great year so far, and I expect big things this fall! Quote
Diablos Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Early fall with warm days and cool mornings I fish topwaters early then cranks/jigs later Late fall with cold mornings and cool days I fish jerkbaits/jigs/cranks/soft plastic grubs/ fast swim jigs Quote
grampa1114 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 So that about covers it...keep throwing what you are used to...understand what happens in the fall...cooling water turns over and homogenizes...fish tend to rest deeper and deeper as water gets colder...they tend to come up to warming water during daytime to feed heavily...you sure can have a lot of fun...fish and learn. The Bassinator Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Yea everything Tim if I dont use it it just sits around and what good is a bait without a bass on it! Quote
Triton21 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 My top 3 are as follows. BUZZBAITS BUZZBAITS AMD MORE BUZZBAITS Quote
Super User bassfisherjk Posted August 18, 2011 Super User Posted August 18, 2011 T-rigged Zoom Baby Brush Hogs,watermelon/magic.I use them anywhere on the lake. Quote
WanderLust Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 T-rigged Zoom Baby Brush Hogs,watermelon/magic.I use them anywhere on the lake. Baby hog is money as well. Fat IKA decimates for me all season. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted August 20, 2011 Super User Posted August 20, 2011 I do the same as JFrancho and he said it best. Location, Location, Location. Quote
HEEF Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 When in doubt I put on a tube and drag the sucker slow and low. Not the most active way to fish, but it hasn't let me down yet when nothing else is working. Quote
Edgy Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 I use jigs, senkos wacky rigged, utail worms. Just keep changing baits if one doesn't work. Quote
