Copper wire works very well as stated above I have also used zip ties in a pinch.

I've had this happen before so I now have some tiny zip ties in my box. I also use the zip tie if I want to add a few colors to my skirt in a pinch.

You could buy an different brand of jig. I recommend Revenge and Buckeye jigs; never had a skirt slip off either of them. :)

If you don't have wire or wire ties some braided line works in a pinch.
