Spent this week fishing of a place I've had success before. A Berkley Powerbait BEAST was the bait of choice. Wind, clouds and Cooler temps seemed to trigger a solid bite. I don't get to flip / pitch much here, (other than a few docks) but with the wind blowing on a reed / lily pad field - it was on. I'm going to hate to see summer end . . . . . . .

:)

Thanks guys -

It was fun, and yes jignfule, it was braid :)

When you don't have to deal with fish in that stuff much, it doesn't take long to realize how crucial heavy gear is, even for 3-4 lb fish. I was blow'n a few at the start - a wimpy hook set and I wasn't moving them my way fast enough. So they were beating be up a bit. Went back to the truck, switched to a faster reel and the meat stick, adjusted my attitude up to "break the jaw and crank your butt off" and faired a bit better. Fortunately the bass were kind enough to let me get more practice.
