Ok this happened my very first trip out this year. My brother stuck the wrong post into the seat base and then sat on it pretty much making sure it never comes out. The posts at the bow and stern are different sizes compared to the ones at the console.

So after lubricating it for the last few months Ive come to the conclusion it aint budging.

Plan B was to remove the whole base but the screws holding the base down just keep spinning in the floor of the boat. I tried to slip a flat head screw driver under the base but it's in the floor so tight that it feels like it was glued and I'm damaging(lightly)the floor near the base.

Plan C was to just use a screw extractor to remove all screws but I wanted to see if you guys had any better ideas before i go to that.

I decided just to remove the whole flooring on my boat. I am actually very happy I did. It allowed me to clean all the accumulated crud and wet vac the pockets of water around the insulation and to see the condition of the wood.

I just ordered a new Swivl-eze base from iboats and can't believe I waited all these months to do this :unsure:

you could have tried a pipe wrench on the post.

it was one of the first things i tried and could hear my floor cracking and the post didnt move at all

I swear Zeus himself couldnt move this thing

I tried all the things suggested above. What finally worked was heating the metal post w/ a torch, letting it cool for a few seconds, then it slipped right out. Probably wrecked the base but for my purposes, that did not matter.
