Sunline Super Fc Sniper - My Thoughts

I bought a spool of the 14# to throw on my 50e/Cumara combo for finesse presentations. This was my first go round with flourocarbon line, and I figured I might as well get something better than most on the market rather than waste money on crap.

To keep this simple the line is very strong. It is a pretty small diameter for a 14# line. Looking back, I probably should have bought the 10# or 12#, as most people would for a 50 sized baitcaster, but it is working out just fine. The line casts extremely well, especially considering the diameter and size of the spool. I am using KVD Line and Lure, and that alone makes all the difference in the world.

I was skeptical about flouro transmitting vibrations on a slack line better than braid, but WOW does it ever. I don't have as good of a direct feel for the bottom as I did when I fished the rod with braid, but using the flouro I can feel the smallest taps on a slack line fall.

My biggest pet-peeve about non-braided lines is how they stretch. I have been a dedicated braid user for two years now, and couldn't be happier. I can snap-set a fish from 35 yards away and know full well that I stuck her good. The Sniper has less stretch than P-Line CXX, but still enough to bug me a little. I had to re-learn how to set the hook with stretchy line, reeling all the way down and making a big deal about the set. Lately though, now that I'm good at that hookset again, I'm liking this line more and more.

I did have one break-off yesterday on the hookset, but I believe that was because I had fished the same knot the whole day before and had not retied. Note to self...don't be shy about retying and slobbering up a knot when using flouro.

The only downfall I can see from this experiment: Now I won't want to use a cheaper flouro...ever.

Overall I think this is an awesome line that is well worth the price, even with it pushing $25. I would highly recommend trying some. You may be surprised.

Try Seaguar man. Its Cheaper and fantastic. Get InvizX 12# for your little 50E when its time to change out your line.

Until you fish Tatsu. Tatsu is so superior to invizX that it's incredible. For that matter, Sniper is better than InvizX in nearly every way and I'm a total and complete Seaguar w***e.

Tatsu has less stretch, greater sensitivity, better casting, better abrasion resistance, and better knot strength. Not to mention the longevity of Tatsu is superior to that of Invizx.

And it is $40. I figure that your statements are right on the money but $40 for fishing line? I understand if you are a tournament angler and you need every advantage but for the average fisherman InvisX is the winner.

I respectfully disagree. Even though I recommend invizx, if you have the means to buy Tatsu at 40$ a spool go for it. I dont know if Hooligan is a tourny man, or a casual fisherman, but if he can afford Tatsu, Tatsu is clearly the winner.

I'm sure InvisX is great line. I used the 6# one time, didn't believe it was flourocarbon. Felt like silk. It just stretched a d**m lot.

I do believe Tatsu is better line. I don't see the need to spend $40 on line. I feel money can be spent other places even if he can afford it. I don't like spending a ton on fishing stuff even if I can afford it.
