Weightless or keel weighted soft plastics fished slow over the top of the grass as if they were weighted Tx rigged.

Ahh yes, a keel weighted lizard, craw...T rigged worm. You still may get some weeds now and then, but these cut down on the loading up of weeds pretty good.  Opps forgot to mention the ragetail toad works well too.

well i would say you need to run a paddle tail worm with a 3/16 oz. bullet in front of it. it rarely fails.

however....in tidal water... its hard to beat the ol' snagless sally by hildebrandt. if their not bitin that... theyre not bitin.

I would rig a plastic worm or lizard weedless with a heavy pegged sinker to punch through the thick mats.

Yeah-

I was going to say a $50.00 bill should work! But seriously-

T-rigged weightless Senko Type bait won't let you down.

Try a Lunker City 5' Fin S Fish, also t-rigged weightless. Casts good and works! Not too many people use this bait. I've always had great luck with it. Rig it straight and its a fantastic jerk bait. Rig it with a slight bananna type bend in it an it comes alive on the surface.

Do you think a weightless trick worm would work?  ;)

My very first year at bass fishing the weeds stopped me cold then I went to BPS and looked at everything weedless I could get my eyes on and bought a bunch of stuff.

Mepps Timber Doodle You drop it into the weed pockets or just work it slow topwater. Its got that wiggle that fish can't resist. My favorite color so far is the silver spoon with the white plastic trailer. I use the 00, the 0 and the number 1 timber doodle. I like the "0" the best. It looks weird but its successful.

With the timber doodle in one of my favorite spots i was matching fish for fish with my buddy using livebait. He won't talk about it to this day.

I have purchased extra timber doodle trailers to use on my spinnerbaits with success too.

Mr twister top prop I really like this weedless topwater bait. I like the firetiger colored one. The bass like it too. You can crank it very slow and use a stop and pause too. Either way they will wack it. Make sure you put a trailer hook on this one too. This is another hot topwater bait too.

Scum frogs

Buzz baits

Any 6" or longer plastic worms Worked really slow topwater and they do offer floating worms too. You can use the weedless hooks too. The hooks stay much cleaner with the weedless spring on them. I use the weedless hooks on all my carolina rigs too.

Even a grub with a weedless hook too will work.

Never let the weeds stop you because there are so many ways to beat the weeds and still catch fish.

My father swears the moss boss.  I had never heard of it until he pulled it out, but he's caught some lunkers on that thing.
