LAURASDAD Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Hello, Well I posted a question earlier but I think I have changed my mind and want to go a different direction. What are your opinions of this combo for throwing medium cranks and spinnerbaits. Revo Winch (5.4 - 1) paired with a 7ft Crucial Medium action Crankbait rod? Thanks in advance Larry Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted August 4, 2011 Super User Posted August 4, 2011 I'd say opt for a MH if they have it in the crankbait line. Quote
ripinthem Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 For medium cranks....going to be close call. The winch is the best deep cranker I've ever used. I use mine on a 7'6" ft BPS cranking stick for <70 bucks, and its all the rod I can ask for. They stay pinned. Don't know about the crucial cranking rod. I usually use a faster reel on my shallow and medium depths, just because you can wear yourself out in this heat with a winch, and its lower gearing. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I bought my first Winch to throw Norman Deep Little N's and similar baits. I used it for big bladed spinnerbaits and loved it so I bought a second. Great reels. Quote

Thanks in advance Larry I use my Winch / Avid MHM for medium \ deep cranking and its awesome. For smaller cranks I typically use a 6.x. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 The Winch is a great reel especially for deep cranks heavy large bladed spinners. Smaller baits that you might want to burn are probably better handled with a 6.x:1 Quote
