I know some of you guys probably have the same issue that I have found myself with recently. After hitting a Bass Pro Shops, I realized that I really didn't need anything. That is the first realization that I have enough lures to last 5 lifetimes. I thought this could never happen but it has!!! That sucks. But wait, at least I have seen the new stuff coming out of ICAST and yes!!!! There is some new stuff that I will have to buy!!! Wooo hoooo! The bait monkey never dies!!!!

I don't mind the feeling of not "needing" anything from BPS or Cabelas. I've got so much tackle laying around and it seemed like everytime I'd go buy something I'd come home and be looking for something else and find that I already had what I just bought. So I decided I'm not buying anything, except maybe so line or hooks, for awhile. I've even spent some time fishing new baits that I wouldn't normally fish because I don't want to use up all my proven baits, had pretty good success doing it too.

I've stopped buying fishing stuff a year ago. I woke up one day and realized that I would never use most of these baits. 80% of my stuff see little/no water. My theory was it was always better to have then not have when I need it. I'm sure I have covered every area. There is still room for upgrade, but I am content with what I have.

LOL! I feel your pain. I have found myself wandering the aisles of BPS lately trying to find something new. Sadly all I have been buying lately is replacement lures, nothing new. The bait monkey is disgusted with me.

This happened to me quite a while ago. I've managed to satisfy my tackle urges (for the most part) by buying lures from smaller companies that the larger chains like BPS don't stock. If you check your local mom & pop tackle shop you may be able to find something cool/different that was made by a local manufacturer. While I was on Lake Gaston last week I picked up a couple jigs from a small local manufactuer in tequila sunrise which is a color that I'd never seen before on a jig.

I haven't placed an order to tackle warehouse since early May. Which is an achievement since all the new iCast stuff has came out. I am content with what I have lure wise, but I think I might purchase a new rod/reel combo. Thinking another Okuma Citrix.

New stuff isnt in the budget right now but I still want new stuff! If you have excess try to sell it Im sure someone would be happy to take it off your hands

Better have and not need than need and not have

I don´t need more tackle since 1990.

Moral of the story:

YOU CAN NEVER HAVE "ENOUGH" TACKLE

So what´s new for this year ? ..... hmmm, that steerable lure looks quite interesting......

Come on Stig, I already have those in 12 different colors....at least try to keep up.

Well...Big O just introduced Rage Tail Single Tail Grubs.

You gotta get some of those! If you haven't tried GMAN

jigs, you need to. NorthStar Hairy Craw and Pro series?

C'mon...Got all of JJ's colors? Man, the list is long.

I have been experimenting with a variety of line this

year, but recently picked off a great deal on 1 lb spools

of Yo-Zuri Hybrid, #6 & #12. That's a lot of line!

Don't overlook our Flea Market either. We have some great

deals and new offerings every day. Just be a little careful,

I made the mistake of sending payment through PayPal as

a "gift". Don't do that unless you know the seller pretty well.

I feel your pain, but I've come to the same realization many years ago :D

What makes matters worse is that the brick-and-mortar Bass Pro Shops (Orlando, FL),

doesn't maintain the same robust inventory as the online store.

This means that I can't place my order until I get back home.

I like new rods and reels, have about 8 inshore outfits and I really only need 1. When it comes to lures, lines , hooks, etc what I use serves me well, new products get little attention. I must have at least 30 spoons as back up in my trunk, I'm still using the rusted ones with broken trebles, they work and I haven't lost them yet, my back up is intact.........lol

I don't believe I'll ever have "enough" tackle. I'm only on my second season, so I own very little tackle. I wish I had more, but at the same time it is nice to look at gear and figure out what I'm going to get. I literally own less than 20 hardbaits. I have maybe 10 bass jigs. Then I have roughly 15 bags of plastics, and 6 spinnerbaits. I've lost probably twice as many lures as I own. Even with as few baits as I do have, I still consistently catch fish and that is the bottom line. Anyways, I bet I'll still be looking at *** and basspro.com fantasizing about new gear, even after I have a lot of it.

Been busy purchasing other stuff, as soon as I´m free from getting those "essentials" I´ll have some extra cash destined for some of those. B)

I have the same issue! Every time I go to BPS or Academy, I come out with some form of fishing gear 98% of the time! I don't know why it is, but I think that lures and lure companies are attracting as many customers as they do fish! :D
