i was just having an average fishing day at a local lake with a super fluke when i thought of something i read in an old article about a slug-o. what i remembered is that by inserting the hook below the nose it helps the bait stay closer to the surface. since i was fishing it on a 5/0 with 12 lb. fluoro in weeds i was trying to keep it closer to the surface. what i discovered was that with the nose bent up, copmbined with a heavy hook actually makes it wiggle while falling even more than ive seen a stickbait do. all i had to do then was cast around the weeds, let it sink then jerk it back up over and over and i had 2 limits within the next three hours. i hope evryone tries this out and maybe finds a new favorite technique.
