bassin is addicting Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 ok... so i read the article about crankin' in the gnarly stuff... and the Timber Tiger seemed to do quite well... anyone use these? any luck? thanks... Quote
natanestaban Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I have several of a very similarly designed bait by Luhr Jensen called a 'Brush Baby'. Love them for cranking wood cover. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted August 2, 2011 Super User Posted August 2, 2011 They don't get hung up. Even in Christmas trees. I have Timber Tigers and Brush Baby's and they are fish catching machines. Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted August 3, 2011 Super User Posted August 3, 2011 I am a big fan of Timber Tigers and I have a lot of them in different sizes. I mostly fish the DC8 & DC16. I routinely fish the DC8 on 17 or 20 lb test. On the DC 16 I'll drop down to 14. I have no qualms throwing them into any kind of woody cover. Very occasionally they will get stuck but compared to any other crank, they come through woody cover great. I experiment quite a bit trying to find the best rod to throw them on. This year I'm mostly using a 7'4" BPS Extreme, med action with a fast tip. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted August 3, 2011 Super User Posted August 3, 2011 HUGE fan of them. That's all I'm going to say without a signed affidavit requiring more. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I read the same article and looked them up on tackle warehouse and found them on ebay and ordered a DC2.DC3 and a DC4 to try out once they arrive. Quote
river-rat Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I used both the Timber Tiger and the Brush Baby with a lot of success for years. Both come through heavy wood cover as well or better than any crankbait I've ever used. Quote
