Super User Sam Posted August 8, 2011 Super User Posted August 8, 2011 I will be cheering on the Saints, Raiders and Packers. Loved the Colts growing up but now that they slithered out of Baltimore to Indy and have Peyton Manning as their QB there is no way I will be for them to win any games this year. Also hope the Deadskins can do well. Also looking forward to having the Cowgirls go down the tubes so Nickie Satan will take over the team for Jerry next year. Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted August 8, 2011 Super User Posted August 8, 2011 I'm not a real big fan of supposed professional team sports, but did have to chuckle when I saw the consequences of the new rookie pay scale. Pretty soon, staying in college will pay just as good as the NFL does! Quote
endless Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Oh no no no. Don't misconstrue that post. We know we aren't the best right now. We had a five hundred season last year and were celebrating. Heck we went undefeated in our division but flopped in most the rest of our games. The saying amongst the true believers in the Raider Nation is, "You beat us on the field, we'll beat you in the parking lot." RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE BABY!!!!!!!! Don't feel bad. We're doing bad in the Bay as well. Here's hope to the Bay this year. Either my 49ers or your Raiders. But I still don't understand how the two teams are so called talking about joining in on a stadium when we supposedly staying in Santa Clara unless the Raiders trying to move? But rumor is they had talked but nothing else said. Quote

It was the LAST non-football weekend until 2012! And it's time for us to take back what is OURS THE DIVISION BELONGS TO 49ERS!!!!!! One Day.............lol Glen what do you expect for Tarvaris Jackson or Charlie Whitehurst? Jackson is going to be the starter right? You did get a nice TE in Zach Miller. I bet 5Bass and Raider Nation Fisher aren't to happy about that, lol. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted August 9, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted August 9, 2011 The Seahawks have a much stronger team this year than last. Barring any injuries, the 2010 NFC champs should take the division yet again. I wouldn't expect them to make it to the SB this year, however. Their O-line and receiving corp is arguably the best they've had since their superbowl appearance in 2005. So if TJ falls short, he has nobody to blame but himself. Whitehurst has shown he's a solid QB, so I have no problems subbing him in if TJ doesn't make the grade. That said, they still need a higher caliber QB if they want to make it to the SB again. Although improving, their defense is their weakest link - especially their secondary. Their defensive line was #2 against the run at one point last season before injuries set in, so hopefully they will be as good this year. But I don't see their pass defense getting any better, and they were terrible last year. Really their best defense is their offense. Hopefully their offense can keep their defense off the field longer this year with less 3-and-outs than last year. Overall, the staff has made some really stellar draft picks and signings. The team is really looking promising and has a bright future ahead of them. That said, this is only the 2nd year into a total overhaul of the team - both on the field and off. So I wouldn't expect them to gain any accolades or SB rings just yet. Expect them to win the division again, but lose in the 3rd round of playoffs. Quote

That's what happens when you take your players forgranted and don't take care of what you already got. I would be much happier if he hadn't left. Sometimes I think Al just enjoys doing idiotic things like this. Still its just a minor set back. The Silver and Black will be just fine. Gotta keep the faith. RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE Quote

RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE I always like Kevin Boss too so the Raiders did pick up a good TE just I'm not sure can he live up to what Zach Miller did but there is no reason to believe he can't. What do you expect from Darrius Heyward-Bey?? I'm hoping Michael Crabtree have a good year. I hate the fact that 49ers have Crabtree who could miss what 4 or 6 games to PUP if not return before season and Braylon Edwards could be facing some suspension time. Nothing said yet but I hope not. That would mean we're down two of our starting receivers. Quote

People need to realize that it takes more than one and sometimes two years before a player in the league reaches his full potential. I think he's gonna have a real good year this year. The first year with him I was just like...............That boy is good. A fourth round draft pick too. Both years put up better numbers than Heyward-Bey. But if your boys get the act right Bush and Mcfadden both could a 1,000 yard season if they split the load. Is Schilens looking healthy this year? Quote

At the current moment he is. Hopefully that doesn't change. The few times I've seen him play I've been impressed. Word is as long as he stays healthy he will be starting. And you are absolutely right about Bush and McFadden. Those two could and will be awesome together. Kinda get a Ronnie/Carnell thing going on. Dang I can't wait for this season to start. Otherwise, I'm gonna have to behave myself somewhat. Paint takes awhile to put on and take off. Right now its looking like I'm gonna be working about three to four hours over my "normal" eight. So we shall see. RAIDER NATION 4 LIFE Quote
